Child’s Play

You may notice the large green banner at the top of the page. Child’s Play is a charity that I participate in each year, and I encourage anyone reading this to get involved as well.

The idea is pretty simple: There are a lot of sick children in a lot of hospitals all over the world. Hospitals are not fun places to be, especially if you are 8 years old and stuck in a hospital bed, going through who-knows-what kind of treatments instead of running around outside and playing with your friends.

Child’s Play is your chance to brighten these kids’ lives and make the days easier. How do you help? Go to the main Child’s Play site, here, and select the specific children’s hospital you would like to help out. You will be taken to that hospital’s Amazon wish-list where you can select the gift you would like to donate. You can also make cash donations if that’s your thing.

A few things to remember: if you are donating toys, have Amazon ship it directly to the hospital’s address (it should be prepared for you in the Wish List), and do not have them gift-wrapped. The hospitals have to be very careful about germs and microbes and stuff like that, which is also why you don’t see things like teddy-bears on the Wish-Lists. Germ factories, really.

Anyways, that’s it. If you are always wishing you could help out more during the holiday season, but weren’t really sure how - this is a great way to bring a smile to a little boy or girl going through some tough times.

    I have never donated to Child’s Play before, but I noticed that this year they are also supporting the Montreal Children’s Hospital, so I will most likely donate something to that hospital.

    We could tell people about it during the evening and go around while people play…$2 from each person and we could buy a ds to Montreal childrens!!!
