Not too long ago, if the subject of the Wii ever came up among friends, we would pay due to its merits as a “party” machine but lament that its single-player offerings were lacking. To be sure, you have your Metroid Primes and your Twilight Princesses - but neither of those are real “must-haves” that could hold our interest for very long.
And so we would all nod our heads knowingly, admitting that the system was currently relegated to the bottom shelf, left to gather dust until guests arrived - preferably those who had not yet seen Wii Sports.
Well, this past weekend I picked up Guitar Hero III; the franchise’s first (but hopefully not last) foray onto the Nintendo platform. Let me tell you, friends, that the time for excuses has past. I won’t get into the assets of the game proper because I don’t feel like repeating what others have already said. I will simply tell you that the game is fun, and if you are looking for a reason to blow the dust off the white elephant; this is it.
The game retails for slightly under 100$ (after taxes) - but apparently it is selling out fast. The only complaint I have is that the game is forcing my fingers into alien positions that take some getting used to. Maybe I’m just doing it wrong.

I have the conundrum of either getting the game for the 360 or the Wii. From what I read, the 360 is the way to go, but the Wii would be fun as well. Also, a second controller will allow coop play in GH2 and GH3. Unfortunately, I will STILL have to buy a third guitar for Rockband…
As for the fingers, I am still unable to do anything at Hard. That orange button just confuses and perplexes me. How am I supposed to slide down there and then come back up and go on? It is a mystery… but a mystery I hope to crack soon!
Rock on!
Have you already tried a real guitar guys? because it hurts much more than the wii guitar… and you have to pull on your finger to make your hand as big as possible… it takes time, practice, pain and exercise (yes you have to start exercising your finger ;))
Otherwise, yeah: Guitar Hero is so good! The complaint I would have is about the variety of the songs: I like rock but being able to play several kind of music would have been great I think.
