The Canadian Dollar is trading almost at-par with the American. And yet we still pay something like 50% more for books than our neighbors to the south. Take a look at the back of any book in your local bookstore: you’ll see the same familiar “6.99 US / 10.99 CAD” difference. Why are the prices hard-coded onto the back of the book jacket? Shouldn’t they fluctuate with the value of the dollar - like anything else?
shipping cost? I am not really familiar with bookstore
but did you check out on the shelves if you really pay the price hard-coded onto the back of the book? I remember that the discount on the last Harry Potter was pretty fast (less than 1 month after it came out)
but yeah, it’s obviously time to order on american online stores :o.
That is a good point.
