fourth

If you follow table-top gaming at all, you may have heard that a new edition of Dungeons & Dragons is in the works and set for a May 2008 release.
As is often the case, the game was introduced to me by friends and classmates, and our first sessions took place in the high school […]

PAX 2007

Has come and gone. Unfortunately I was not able to attend and I missed Wil Wheaton’s keynote speech, among other things
I am resolved to attend next year however, so we’ll see how that turns out. Luckily, Wil’s speech is available for download here. If you consider yourself a gamer at heart, I highly […]

the latest pageant

Have you heard about this?
The premise is that 40 children, age 8 to 15 are left to their own devices in a make-believe ghost town in New Mexico. Their goal is to build a society without any adult supervision (except for the host, the camera men, the boom mic operators, the psychiatrists and the […]

Stardust

Last night I went to see the movie Stardust with some friends. The movie is based off of a story written by Neil Gaiman which I have never read, but now find myself compelled to purchase and, perhaps, devour. The film, in a word, is magical. In two words, it is magically delicious.
Humans have said […]

The Hacker Crackdown - podcast

Cory says:
So now I’m reading other people’s stuff — at least […]

La Ronde

Apparently there is some kind of special event happening at La Ronde on the 25th of August. The first 200 red-heads get in free. I saw the commercial on TV but can’t find any info about this on the official site. Still, if you know any carrot-tops, it might be worth investigating.

Steven Erikson

I’ve been reading my way through Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen series over the past year, and I can’t say enough good things about it. Epic in scope and possessing a narrative style that scratches a cerebral itch which had gone far too long without scratching, I found myself compelled to read just […]

and many more

The anniversary of my birth approaches, as does that of my conjointe. Somewhere, I am certain, someone takes great pleasure in the incremental details, but I can’t be bothered to concern myself with such minutia.
I have a friend who, as dictated by his religious beliefs, does not recognize birthdays as being cause for fete. He […]
